Chandré Jacobs
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Chandré Jacobs is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the African Centre of Excellence for Inequality Research (ACEIR) in SALDRU at the University of Cape Town. She completed her PhD in Economics in 2026, with a thesis examining local inequality, protest action, and xenophobic violence in South Africa. Chandré’s current research builds on her doctoral work, spanning two broad themes of inequality and conflict. Her work on inequality focuses on measurement, perceptions of inequality, and social mobility, while her conflict research concentrates on the micro-foundations and developmental consequences of conflict.
