In this video, we explore one of the impacts of early childhood health on later outcomes by looking at the impact of nutrition on educational outcomes, as measured in terms of school performance. This evidence is drawn from the first four waves of the National Income Dynamics Study (NIDS).
The analysis in the video is based on: Casale, D. (2016). Analysing the links between child health and education outcomes: Evidence from NIDS Waves 1-4. Cape Town: SALDRU, University of Cape Town. SALDRU Working Paper Number 179/ NIDS Discussion Paper 2016/6.
NIDS is an initiative of the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) implemented by the Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit (SALDRU) at the University of Cape Town (UCT).
